GreenUp Volunteers for Junior Achievement

GreenUp Wealth Management at Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City.

GreenUp Wealth Management’s mission is to transform and positively impact people’s lives. To fulfill our mission, the entire team at GreenUp Wealth Management had the pleasure of volunteering for several hours on January 23rd at Junior Achievement (JA) of Greater Kansas City, an organization that inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy through volunteer-led programs focusing on work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

After a tour of the Junior Achievement building’s incredible educational marketplace led by Sara Swearingen, GreenUp advisors and staff sorted, organized, and assembled educational material packages for the volunteers who lead Junior Achievement programs in schools throughout the Kansas City area.

GreenUp Wealth Management’s Chief Operating Officer, Alex Fishman, became a board member of Junior Achievement in 2020. He currently serves as an Executive Committee Board Member and sits on the Governance Subcommittee. “Junior Achievement is a fantastic organization that leads the way in promoting economic mobility for youth in Kansas City through various programs, including the new 3DE Program and JA BizTown.  We are elated to be able to spend time volunteering in support of a powerful mission,” Fishman said.

“I believe there is a gap in financial literacy and entrepreneurship being taught to America’s youth,” added Tony Schmitt, President & CEO of GreenUp Wealth Management. “Junior Achievement does an incredible job bridging the gap and making a difference in the lives of young people.  I have witnessed first-hand the impact JA brings to the students in the classroom.  Through strategic partnerships like this we can truly help transform our communities.”
